In 2016, the BMW Group celebrated its 100th anniversary. In line with our motto THE NEXT 100 YEARS, our focus is on the future. Our goal is to play an active role in shaping individual mobility in a sustainable way. The car of the future will not only have an electric motor but it will be able to drive autonomously and will be fully connected and shareable. How can an established car manufacturer continue to deliver highly innovative products? One important element of our innovation management is a well-established international research and development network that provides us with access to the latest trends and technologies. The Technical University of Munich has been an integral part of this network for almost a century, because we consider young academics an important source of innovative ideas. As chairman of the board of the “Bund der Freunde der TUM” (Friends of TUM) I am particularly involved in supporting the professional advancement of talented students and it is my personal pleasure to promote the BMW Group as a potential employer.

The “Bund der Freunde der TUM” (Friends of TUM) connects people who are close to the Technical University of Munich: students, staff, professors, alumni and friends and supporters. Your membership is a personal signal of loyalty and solidarity, providing our university with inner and outer strength. The friends share a willingness to engage in science and research and to promote the younger generation as well as the university culture.

We would like to invite you to join us in our striving to shape our academic community. In this sense, your personal membership in the tradition-rich “Bund der Freunde der TUM” (Friends of TUM) is a clear affirmation of connectedness.

Thus, I would like to invite you to become a friend of TUM!
